Frequently asked questions
How can I volunteer with LEARN.ORG.UK?
We have many opportunities available and are very welcoming to anybody wishing to volunteer with us. You can get in touch with us by telephone: (01924) 462393. You don't need any specific skills or qualifications, however we would like to get to know you, invite you for a chat, and make sure we have a suitable post for you.
What is the difference between volunteering and internships?
LEARN.ORG.UK supports young people getting into work. Volunteering is a good way to spend what free time you have productively and learn new skills and build up confidence. Internships are more structured, with clearly defined roles, generally lasting from 3 to 12 months. Interns are formally recruited, have higher responsibility helping to develop the skills to raise your employability.
I can't afford my travel costs
Volunteers are not expected to go out of pocket because of their volunteering. Volunteers can have their travel expenses and other necessary expenses reimbursed.
I have a disability
We are positive about disabilities and will work with all of our volunteers have their specific needs met and strive to be as accessible, friendly and welcoming to everyone that comes through our doors.
How much time will I need to give?
We cannot give a one size fits all answer to this. You are welcome to contact us, so that we can discuss your circumstances and find a post that works for us both.
